Live demo · a fictional shop called Northfield Additive

This is the product, not a video of it

Everything below is the real widget talking to the real engine. The configuration behind it belongs to a demo shop with its own machines, materials and rates - the same kind of configuration you would publish. Upload one of your own parts and see what it says.

Nothing you upload here becomes an order, and demo files are deleted automatically. What we do with files is written down, and it applies to this page too.

The quoting widget

Drop in an STL, OBJ, 3MF, AMF, PLY or glTF file, or a DXF or SVG drawing for a cut part; see it; choose material, quality, finish and quantity; and get a price built from this shop’s own machines and rates - with the breakdown beside it.

It is loading. If it does not appear, it needs JavaScript and a reachable script - the widget reference says exactly what it fetches, and the product page describes what it does.

What to try

Four things worth doing while you are here

Change the quantity

Watch the price per part fall - and notice that the machine time per part falls too, because a batch shares set-up and, on powder processes, shares a whole build.

Switch process

The demo shop runs every process Quotometry prices, so the same bracket can be priced as FDM, resin, SLS, MJF, PolyJet, metal, binder jetting, CNC, vacuum casting or injection moulding. The differences are not multipliers; each is its own model of how the part gets made. Metal, moulding and a milled or turned mesh come back as estimates the shop would review, and laser, waterjet and plasma price from a DXF or SVG drawing.

Upload something awkward

A part with a thin web, a sealed cavity, or one too big for any machine. See what it says before it quotes.

Open the breakdown

This demo shop has chosen to show grouped lines. Yours can show less, or more. What it can never show is a rate, a cost or a margin.

The sample part

If you would rather not upload anything

The bracket loaded by default is 80 × 50 × 40 mm, 44.8 cm³, one shell, with a minimum wall of 8 mm. It is the part used for the worked examples on the technology pages (turning prices a sample shaft and the cutting processes a plate drawing instead), so you can compare what you see here with the numbers published there.

Now see it with your own rates

A demo takes twenty minutes: bring a part you have quoted by hand and the numbers you quoted it at.
