Which to choose

Choose DigiFabster if

  • You quote bent sheet metal as well as printing and machining, and want one storefront for all of it.
  • You want the buyer to pay by card or purchase order in the same flow, today.
  • You handle ITAR-controlled work and need US GovCloud hosting.
  • You want RFQ e-mails turned into draft quotes by an AI agent, or threads recognised in machined parts rather than counted by the buyer.
  • You want built-in shipping, tax and accounting or CRM integrations.

Choose Quotometry if

  • You print, machine or cut parts and want to start on a free plan or a monthly plan with a public price.
  • You want to read every line of a price and change what the buyer sees.
  • You want to test a rate change against recent quotes before it goes live, and roll back if it is wrong.
  • You want orders delivered to your own systems by signed webhooks with retries and replay.
  • You build on WordPress or Shopify and want a plugin rather than an iframe.

Where DigiFabster is stronger

DigiFabster covers more of the shop. Its plans span 3D printing, CNC milling and turning, and 2D cutting and sheet metal, so a business that both prints and machines can run one storefront. For machined and sheet parts it recognises features such as holes, slots, pockets and threads, and prices them time-based, cost-based or both.

It takes money. DigiFabster Pay, built on Stripe, lets the buyer pay in the checkout, with purchase order workflows beside it. Shipping and tax automation, a sales dashboard and connections to HubSpot, Salesforce, QuickBooks, Xero and Zoho Books are on the plan pages.

It serves controlled work. ITAR AWS hosting is an add-on on Growth and included on Enterprise. Quotometry has an EU data region and does not handle ITAR or CMMC work.

It has an AI Quote Agent in beta that reads RFQ e-mails and drafts a quote for the shop to review, and an AI pricing calibration that sets machine and material values from example parts and prices.

Where Quotometry is stronger

Quotometry is built for the shop that wants to see inside the price. Every quote is a tree of named lines, and the shop decides how much the buyer sees. A draft change to rates or rules can be run against recent quotes and reference parts before it is published, and a published configuration can be rolled back. Calibration fits the estimator’s speed and overhead coefficients to parts the shop has already made and reports the error.

For SLS and MJF, price comes from the part’s share of a real build rather than a flat per-part rate. Orders reach the shop by signed webhook with retries and replay, by e-mail, and in an inbox with manual review and price override. The widget is a native web component, with an iframe and a hosted quote page as fallbacks, and there are WordPress and Shopify plugins.

Sign-up is self-serve, with a free plan and monthly billing.

Pricing compared

DigiFabster bills annually. When we checked, its pricing page showed Essential from $335 a month and Growth from $720 a month to visitors outside North America, and $415 and $840 to visitors inside it. Enterprise is priced on request. Payments add 4.99% on Essential or 1.99% on Growth and Enterprise, plus banking fees.

Quotometry’s plans are Free, Starter at €29, Growth at €99 and Pro at €299 a month, with annual billing at ten months’ price. The measure is the quote request: the first price of a file for a buyer. Re-pricing as the buyer changes material or quantity is not counted. Backtesting and API access start on Growth. See the pricing page for every quota.

The currencies differ and we have not converted them.

Switching

  • Run both side by side on a test page first. Quote the same small part, large part and batch in each, with your real materials and rates, and compare the totals line by line.
  • Quotometry starts from catalogue presets for common printers and materials. You enter your own rates; there is no importer for DigiFabster settings.
  • If you rely on DigiFabster Pay, plan how you will take payment: with Quotometry today you invoice, or the WooCommerce or Shopify plugin sends the buyer to your own store’s checkout.
  • If you also quote bent sheet metal, keep that on DigiFabster for now.
  • Point your back office at Quotometry’s order webhooks before you move the widget on your live site.

Questions people ask

Is Quotometry a DigiFabster alternative?

For a shop that prints, machines or cuts flat parts, yes: both give the buyer an instant price from the shop's own rates. For a shop that also bends sheet metal, not yet, because Quotometry does not price bent sheet work today. DigiFabster also takes the buyer's payment, which Quotometry's widget does not do yet.

Which costs less, DigiFabster or Quotometry?

On list prices, Quotometry's paid plans start at €29 a month billed monthly, and there is a free plan. DigiFabster's pricing page showed plans from $335 a month billed annually when we checked, plus a percentage on payments. Compare the plan you would actually need, including quote volume, users and processing fees.

Can I see how a price was calculated in each product?

Quotometry shows every price as a tree of named lines, such as material, machine time, labour, overhead and margin, with the inputs that produced them. We did not find a public description of how DigiFabster shows a price breakdown to the shop, so ask for a demonstration on one of your own parts.
