In short

Quote3D (quote3d.com, not to be confused with Quot3D) is a 3D printing quote engine sold as a REST API and an embeddable widget, with cart plugins for WooCommerce, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Magento, Wix and Shopify, five processes including metal, and plans from $19.99 a month. Quotometry prices fourteen processes, polymer and metal printing, CNC, cutting and moulding, with a full price breakdown, backtesting, calibration and versioned configurations, and delivers orders to the shop. Neither takes the buyer's payment in the widget: Quote3D hands the quote to the store's cart; Quotometry delivers the order to the shop's inbox and webhooks, or through its WooCommerce and Shopify plugins to the shop's own checkout.

Which to choose

Choose Quote3D if

  • You sell through PrestaShop, OpenCart, Magento or Wix and want the quote added to your store's cart at a locked price.
  • You are a developer building your own quoting product on a quote API.
  • You want the lowest paid entry price, at $19.99 a month.
  • You want the widget in nine languages.

Choose Quotometry if

  • You want to backtest a rate change against recent quotes and roll it back if it is wrong.
  • You want the estimator calibrated to parts you have actually made.
  • You want every quote to stay tied to the configuration version that priced it.
  • You want orders, not only quotes: an inbox with manual review and price override, and webhooks retried over 72 hours.
  • You want a native web component on your own site rather than an iframe.

Where Quote3D is stronger

Quote3D is built to sit inside a store. Installable plugins for WooCommerce, PrestaShop, OpenCart, Magento and Wix re-read each quote from the API and add it to the cart at that price, and the back office gets a quote list, a production queue and colour stock. Shopify is supported through Custom Liquid code. Quotometry has plugins for WordPress and Shopify only.

It models SLS builds in detail, with three billing modes for shared builds. Its widget runs in nine languages; Quotometry’s runs in three.

Its entry price is low, $19.99 a month, and its API is open to developers building their own products, with synchronous and asynchronous quotes, quote history and analytics.

Where Quotometry is stronger

Quotometry is built around the shop’s control of its prices. Every price is a tree of named lines with the inputs behind them, and the shop chooses how much the buyer sees. A draft change can be backtested against recent quotes and reference parts before it is published, configurations are versioned with rollback, and every quote stays tied to the version that priced it. Calibration fits the estimator’s speed and overhead coefficients to parts the shop has already made. We found none of these on Quote3D’s public pages.

It handles orders, not only quotes. An order reaches an inbox with manual review and price override, and is delivered by e-mail and by signed webhooks retried over 72 hours, with replay and a delivery log. The widget is a native web component that sits in the page itself rather than in an iframe, with an iframe and a hosted quote page as fallbacks.

Quote3D’s home page FAQ mentions 25 free quotes a month, while its pricing page lists a one-time 100; we show the pricing page. Quotometry counts the first price of a file for a buyer, not later re-prices. Backtesting and API access start on Growth. The currencies differ and we have not converted them. Every Quotometry quota is on the pricing page.

Switching

  • Quote the same files in both, with the same materials and rates, and compare the totals line by line.
  • If your store runs on PrestaShop, OpenCart, Magento or Wix, Quotometry has no plugin for it: orders would come through the inbox and webhooks instead of the cart. On WooCommerce, Quotometry’s WordPress plugin puts the quote in the basket.
  • In Quotometry, start from catalogue presets for your printers and materials and enter your own rates; there is no importer for Quote3D profiles.
  • Repoint any code that listens for Quote3D webhooks to Quotometry’s signed webhooks, which use their own event names and signature.

Questions people ask

Is Quote3D the same as Quot3D?

No. Quote3D at quote3d.com is a quote API and widget with store plugins, covering five print processes. Quot3D at get-quot3d.com is a separate FDM quote widget that imports your slicer configuration. We compare Quotometry with each on its own page.

Is Quotometry a Quote3D alternative?

For a print shop that wants instant prices on its own site, yes. Quote3D is strongest as an engine that feeds a store's cart, with plugins for several shop systems. Quotometry is stronger on the shop's control of its prices: breakdown, backtesting, calibration and versioning, with orders delivered to an inbox and webhooks.

Can buyers pay in either widget?

Not directly in either. Quote3D adds the quote to your store's cart and the buyer pays at the store's checkout. Quotometry sends the order to you by inbox, e-mail and webhook for you to invoice, or its WooCommerce plugin puts the quote in the basket and its Shopify plugin turns it into a draft order the buyer pays. In-widget payment through Stripe Connect is planned.
